Our Home was bursting with youthful energy and joy when 25 students from the University of South Alabama arrived last Monday for a day of service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King. The occasion of the national holiday offered students an opportunity to “Celebrate the Dream,” joining hands across racial and generational differences in service to others. By the end of the day, one third of the volunteers that came for the day signed up to come back regularly! “I like older people. They have so much to say and so much advice to give. So I would love to come volunteer here on a regular basis!” said Loren Burroughs, a Junior studying Biomedical Science.
