Well, all of our “thons” have been rocked! Our 3rd Annual Rock-a-Thon was a success, with dancing, decorations, food, games and great music. Our contestants did a wonderful job raising money with sponsorships while they rocked in their beautifully decorated rocking chairs. While the winner of the fundraising competition was easy to determine, the “Best-Decorated” Rocking Chair was a major challenge. All of our participants showed ingenuity and crafty artistic ability, as well as enthusiasm.
All in all, as you can see from this slideshow, there were smiles everywhere. The most important thing about this year’s event, though, was that the proceeds went to our new “Wheelchair and Accessories” fund. As technology and aesthetic advances come our way, we’ve seen the possibility of improving the lives of our Residents. The first purchase from our fund was for two specially equipped wheelchairs that are designed to improve the comfort of Residents as they move throughout the Sacred Heart Residence.
Since the Wheelchair and Accessories Fund is meant to be a revolving fund, we would very much appreciate any donations. You can choose this option by giving online or by including a note if you send a check. This is an ongoing need and leads directly to the comfort of our beloved Residents.
Because of the effort of our staff, volunteers, Residents, their families and the Little Sisters, we can declare the 3rd Annual Rock-a-Thon a great success! Thanks to all who contributed!
