Friday we celebrated the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which is an especially meaningful feast day for us here in our Home, Sacred Heart Residence. A special Mass was celebrated by our chaplain Fr. Peter Cunningham in white vestments, assisted by Deacon Johnson. As we focused on the Sacred Heart, we were reminded not just of Christ’s physical heart, but of His love for all mankind—a magnificent and merciful love for each of us, echoing the Divine Love of God. What a joyful day as we joined in singing special hymns to honor our Lord!
After the Mass, the Residents enjoyed an incredible feast of prime rib, twice-baked potatoes, rice and broccoli casserole, yeast rolls, and special salads. This delicious meal was complete with cake and butter pecan, chocolate and vanilla ice cream. Together as a family, we also enjoyed a wonderful day of special activities, including “Big Bucks Bingo” in the afternoon with Mother Marcel Joseph calling the numbers!
We hope that you, our friends and benefactors, also had a joyful Feast of the Sacred Heart.
