Our Home took the opportunity to continue the tradition of celebrating Valentine’s Day with the Residents and staff dining together. With the help of the Activities and Dietary Departments, each staff member had the opportunity to dine with the Residents that they serve meals to during the week. The night shift ate breakfast with the Residents, the day shift ate lunch with the Residents, and the evening shift ate dinner with the Residents. In order to accommodate everyone, we used both dining rooms as well as Holy Family Lounge. It was such a wonderful display of love between all, as Residents and staff prayed together and shared stories with one another while eating. Many of the staff commented on how great it was to be able to just listen to the Residents and get to know them better. Some of the Residents even commented about how much they enjoyed getting to know some of the staff members that they didn’t know all that well. The love shared between each of us on that day reminded us all that no matter where you grew up or how old you are, we are all brothers and sisters in God’s family. The love that was shared will never be forgotten and we are looking forward to the next meal we share together.
