Sacred Heart Residence was really rockin’ on Feb. 7 at our 2nd Annual Rock-A-Thon fundraiser. Teams made up of Residents, family members, volunteers and friends – young and old alike – came together for a “rocking” good time and to show their support for our Home and Residents. Groups of at least 10 rockers made the commitment to solicit donations and to take turns rocking the day away. Prizes were given for the best decorated chair (Fr. Biven’s Everyday Angels) and for the most money raised by a team (The Rockin’ Red Hatters). Spectators and supporters provided entertainment for the rockers with demonstrations of The Electric Slide, country line dancing and the jitterbug to the tunes spun all afternoon by a DJ. Magic tricks provided by Brother Lee and the McGill-Toolen Magic Club kept the little ones mesmerized but Sisters Ellen Anne, Charles Patricia and Carolyn stole the show with their karaoke acts and kept the rockers rockin’ throughout the afternoon. Thanks to all who came out to join the fun and show their support for our Residents and the Little Sisters. Reserve your rocking chair for next year!
