All of us here at Sacred Heart Residence were blessed to welcome a group of 12 students from the Florida State University Catholic Student Union. They used their spring break to come to our Home and volunteer, happily cleaning cabinets, making beds, giving manicures, serving meals, cleaning the kitchen, and doing whatever was needed. They brought such a youthful energy with them that all of our Residents and staff seemed a bit perkier when they were around. When they weren’t working, the students had an active role in the spiritual life of the home, attending daily Mass, praying the rosary, and leading the Stations of the Cross. During their last Mass with us, Mother Marcel gave them each a stone with a cross etched into it. These will stand as a permanent reminder of their time with us. We are so thankful for their hard work and already miss them. May they continue to be a blessing to all those that they touch!
