Spring Hill College faculty and staff recently celebrated the feast day of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit order, by participating in a day of service throughout the community. Spring Hill, a Jesuit institution, sent groups to Sacred Heart Residence, Bay Area Food Bank, Little Flower Catholic School, Ronald McDonald House and other agencies to give back to the local community and honor the Jesuit tradition of service to others.
The Spring Hill employees who visited us pitched in and helped out in several areas. Laundry was folded, potatoes were peeled, water pitchers were filled and delivered and closets cleaned out and organized. These small everyday acts of service contribute so much to the happy atmosphere of our Home. The work of St. Ignatius and St. Jeanne Jugan continues today by hearts and hands such as theirs and all of our wonderful volunteers who reach out to serve.
