Dear Family Member or Sponsor,
We are writing you this letter to bring you up to date on the Covid-19 situation regarding our home and your loved ones. We still remain Covid free thanks be to God and the efforts of the sisters and devoted staff. We had the home decontaminated by the National Guard as recommended by the state. This process went very well as they decontaminated each Resident's room as well as all the common areas and offices.
Some people have been inquiring as to when we will be opening the Home and I want to clarify the situation for you. Right now all nursing homes in the country are mandated by CMS (Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services) to remain in lock down. CMS is presently working on a safety plan for the reopening of nursing homes. This plan has not yet been officially announced but from what I understand it will be a three phase process. Only after this protocol has been completed successfully will the nursing home be permitted to open the doors to the public. I think it is important you understand that the decision of ending the lock down is not mine but rather the decision of the federal government. We are all anxious to have this time of isolation end but as I'm sure you realize it must be done safely and to protect your loved one.
In the meantime please don't hesitate to call Tanya Haynes, Activity Director, at 251476-6335 to set up a window visit or video call appointment with your loved one.
Once again I want to thank you for your understanding, support, and prayers during these challenging days.
God bless you.
Mother Judith, l.s.p.
